Transport strike enters Day III

SURKHET, May 24: Normal life in Bheri Zone was affected on Monday as well due to the indefinite transport strike called since Saturday by the Nepal National Federation of Transport Entrepreneurs following a row between two transport entrepreneurs’ groups.



The federation declared the indefinite strike accusing Kakrebihar Transport Entrepreneurs’ Association of plying old vehicles and flouting regulations.



Bus services in Surkhet, Banke, Bardiya, Dailekh and Jajarkot have been completely disrupted due to the strike.



The protestors, however, let tractors and trucks laden with daily essentials to ply.



The protesters have demanded cancellation of road permit of Kakrebihar’s buses. Kakrebihar Transport has rejected the federation’s claims.
