Traffic police constable killed after being hit by a bus

BARA, April 6: A traffic police constable on duty was killed after being hit by a passenger bus on Friday night. 


Constable Muntun Yadav assigned to night duty at Amlekhgunj Chowk in the Jitpur Simra Sub-Metropolitan City lost his life in the tragic incident.

SP Bhim Kiran Bogati of the Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office in Pathlaiya reported that Constable Yadav, who was stationed in Amlekhganj, died after the bus with the registration number Bagmati Province 01-006 Kha 6123 hit Yadav. The bus was en route to Kakadbhitta from Kathmandu.


SP Bogati said the incident took place at approximately 11:30 PM on Friday night at Amlekhgunj Chowk. Yadav was attempting to stop the bus for inspection when it struck him, leading to his immediate death.


The bus involved in the incident has been detained by the authorities and Yadav’s body has been transferred to Narayani Bayodha Medicity Hospital in Birgunj for post-mortem procedures. 


Police have identified the deceased constable as a resident of Chhipharmai Rural Municipality in the Mirzapur area of Parsa.
