Traffic on Prithvi Highway resumes after seven hours

TANAHUN, July 12: Traffic on the Prithvi Highway that was disrupted due to a landslide at Ghansikuwa, Byas Municipality-12, has resumed after seven hours.

TANAHUN, July 12: Traffic on the Prithvi Highway that was disrupted due to a landslide at Ghansikuwa, Byas Municipality-12, has resumed after seven hours.


The landslide debris on the road was removed using equipment from the Mugling-Pokhara Road Expansion Project and the road opened for two-way traffic, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Deepak Kumar Raya of the District Police Office.


"It took time to remove the debris as the landslide was huge. Now, the road is fully open for two-way traffic," he said.

Hospital damaged due to landslip, service suspended 


Services at the Purandihi Hospital have been affected after a landslide damaged a part of the hospital building. The landslide damaged the lab and the gynecology ward of the hospital building, said Aishwarya Chandra Bhattarai, Chief of the Bhanu Municipality Health Section.


The hospital is providing only the most essential services. The hospital administration said the lab and gynecology services stand fully suspended at present.
