Traffic jam in Kathmandu due to Prithvi Jayanti celebrations

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Traffic jams on the roads in the capital have been reported due to a program organized to celebrate Prithvi Jayanti and National Unity Day today at the statue of the late King Prithvi Narayan Shah located near the Singha Durbar.

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Traffic jams on the roads in the capital have been reported due to a program organized to celebrate Prithvi Jayanti and National Unity Day today at the statue of the late King Prithvi Narayan Shah located near the Singha Durbar. 


According to the traffic police, the vehicles were diverted due to the program being held at Singha Durbar Chowk on the occasion of Prithvi Jayanti and National Unity Day.

Similarly, vehicles have been diverted from Gairidhara, Sinhdobato, Jayanepal Chowk, Dhalku Chowk, Sano Gaucharan, Ghantaghar, Dillibazar, New plaza, Babarmahal, Kupondole.


Due to the diversions from various places, the traffic police have requested the drivers to use alternative routes to drive their vehicles. The road from Inarmode in Lalitpur to Suzukimode is being paved. Because of this also, the vehicles running through the road section are diverted from the remaining lanes. Apart from this, the traffic in other places and checkpoints in Kathmandu Valley is normal.
