KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Protests by different groups have thrown capital’s vehicular movement totally out of gear. Locals in Naxal and Bhagawatibahal area have been obstructing traffic movement from 8 am to protest against the prolonged load-shedding hours, traffic police said. The protest will continue until noon. Likewise, students have obstructed traffic movement in front of various campuses including Shankar Dev, Tri-Chandra, and Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus protesting against the failure to strictly implement government´s decision to slash transport fares. They are also protesting against sharp increase in load shedding hours.

Meanwhile, Metropolitan Traffic Police Office, Ramshahapath, said some 200 students belonging to NIMS college are staging demonstration in Putalisadak area demanding that the Ministry of Education (MoE) immediately publish the results of MBBS and BDS entrance examination they sat for earlier. The traffic movement has badly affected due to rampant diversion of vehicles on the road.
Traffic has been disturbed in Jamal, Jadibuti, Sanogaucharan, and Gairidhara areas as well.
