KATHMANDU, Aug. 8: Cross-border trade between Nepal and China via the Tatopani-Khasa border has come to a complete halt for the past three weeks after landslides disrupted transportation in the region.

Dipendra Prakash Giri, chief customs officer at the Tatopani Customs Office, said landslides at various points along the Araniko Highway have affected trade between Nepal and China. “Containers carrying goods from China are also unable to enter Nepal due to the road blockage at the checkpoint,” Giri said. “There is no decision yet on when the road will be reopened.”
