Chairman of the Syndicate Suraj Vaidya and CAN President Binaya Raj Pandey inked the deal amidst a function during which they also bade farewell to the U-21 team leaving for Bangladesh later in the afternoon to participate in the 11th South Asian Games (SAG). [break]
Pandey said the Syndicate has already provided Rs 400,000 as logistics support for the team.
Vaidya and Pandey also unveiled the new playing kit of the U-21 team with the Toyota logo and distributed the kits to members of the team. Vaidya handed over a cricket kit bag to U-21 captain Gyanendra Malla.
Vaidya expressed his happiness at being associated with the cricket team and announced cash incentives for the cricketers.
“We will top off the incentive from the NSC (National Sports Council) by giving Rs 100,000 to the cricket team for bronze medal, Rs 200,000 for silver and Rs 500,000 for gold,” Vaidya announced.
Pandey had earlier informed the cricketers that NSC will give Rs 25,000, Rs 50,000 or Rs 100,000 respectively to each cricketer if they win bronze, silver or gold.
Nepal play hosts Bangladesh in their first match of the competition on Sunday.
