KATHMANDU, Nov 4: Rabindra Adhikari, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation will not be attending the World Tourism Fair in London after his visa was cancelled due to negligence from VFS Office in Kathmandu.
Adhikari was scheduled to visit the United Kingdom on November 5-7 to take part in the World Tourism Fair. However, when a ministry staffer had gone to collect the minister's passport, the visa was cancelled and crossed with a red ink.
"The minister won't be heading to London for now," a ministry's source said.
Initially, VFS had said that they'd reissue the Minister's visa by Sunday itself. Sharad Raj Aaran, spokesperson at the Embassy of Nepal in London had said that the minister would be in London by Monday.
Thirty one tourism businesses are participating from Nepal in the World Tourism Fair. The Embassy of Nepal is hosting a program for Minister Adhikari on November 10.
