Tourism, cultural fest concludes

KATHMANDU, May 26: The Mid and Far Western Tourism and Cultural Festival concluded in the capital on Sunday.



Officials of West Women Aware Group (WWAG), the organizer of the event said, in the concluding ceremony that the three-day event was helpful in promoting culture, food and tourism destinations in the Kathmandu Valley. [break]



"Most of the visitors loved the traditional cultural dances and food of the region," Amar Bahadur Shahi, coordinator of the event and managing director of Raaika Tours & Travels, said.



The festival had 20 stalls wherein visitors got the opportunity to taste local cuisines of the regions and learn about various tourist destinations there. A photo exhibition on mid and far western regions was also organized on the sidelines of the event.

According to the organizers, around 25,000 people visited the event.



"We are planning to organize the festival every year in the capital," Shahi said, adding, "We are hopeful that this event will help to attract local as well as international tourists to the regions."
