According to a Toshiba statement, KAI has been authorized to sell the complete notebook product line, accessories and post-sales services in Nepal.[break]
"Nepal seems like an epicenter for top global brands to anchor in, and more interestingly has the significant year-on-year growth for PCs, especially a discerning taste for cutting-edge notebook PCs," said Max Lee, Toshiba´s regional manager for distributor business of South Asia. “We choose KAI because of their entrenched name in the country, having deep knowledge in both the consumer and corporate needs and wide distribution network.”
Together with KAI, Toshiba will open new concept corners in Kathmandu and other strategic outlets, to cater for both sales and post-sales services offerings, initially. It is planning to open more retail channels and services touch points within this year and consumers can expect timely availability of new products that are introduced in the global market.

Among the newly launched laptop series, Portege Z830 series is the world´s lightest and thinnest 13.3 inch ultrabook weighing just 1.12 kg. The ultra book has the latest 2nd generation Intel Core™ processors and ultra-fast DDR3 memory, great battery life and has hi-speed start technology. Portege Z830 with i5 processor is available at Rs 109,000, while the one with i7 processor costs Rs 139,000.
Similarly, Satellite series are priced between Rs 63,600 to Rs 69,000, Tecra series at Rs 108,500 and Portege R series at Rs 124,800.
