Dolma Sherpa, Bijaya Karki, Sangita Shrestha, Ranjita Koirala and Srijana Khadka scored for Nitten Memorial, while Academy´s Radhika Shakya scored an own goal. Laxmi Lama had a consolation goal for the losing side.
Annal Jyoti, New Diamond into volleyball final
KATHMANDU, Nov 19: Hosts Annal Jyoti set up title clash against New Diamond School in the girls´ final of the Ninth Annal Jyoti Volleyball Running Cup.
The hosts defeated AI School 25-9, 25-17 on Thursday. Likewise, Annal Jyoti defeated Angel´s Heart School 25-15, 25-17 as well as SEB School 25-11, 25-20 and 25 -21 to enter the final. New Diamond defeated SEB 25-9, 25-13 and Angel´s Heart 25-11, 25-18, 25-15 to secure berth in final.
In boys´ category, Gyanbigyan School thrashed Bright Future School 25-23, 25-10. Hosts Annal Jyoti ´A´ beat Jupiter School 25-17, 25-19. Both the winners entered the semis of the tournament.
In the U-13 boys´ category, hosts Annal Jyoti ´A´ and ´B´ as well as Newton and Gyanodaya School secured their berths in the semifinals.
New Lira enter U-16 cricket final
KATHMANDU, Nov 19: New Lira School entered the final of the ongoing U-16 Inter School Kathmandu District Selection Cricket Tournament on Thursday.
New Lira School thrashed Bhanu Bhakta Memorial School by 10 wickets. Batting first Bhanu Bhakta put up a dismal performance and were all out for 27 in 10.5 overs as Suyesh Aryal and Sanjay Sharma took 4 wickets each. New Lira met the easy target with all the wickets in their hand.
Likewise, National Model Science School defeated Ideal English School by four wickets. Ideal won the toss and elected to bat first. Ideal scored 104 runs losing three wickets in limited 20 overs. In reply, National Model met the target in 19.3 overs losing six wickets.
