DANG, July 17: A teenager has appealed for justice claiming he was extremely tortured in detention by the police.

Mukesh Rijal, 18, of Chaulahi-2, Lamahi, said the police tortured him in detention in connection with a minor motorcycle accident.

“My son could not even eat, let alone stand on his own,” said Geeta Devi, Mukesh´s mother, at a press conference here on Saturday. She claimed that the issue had already been resolved following an understanding between Mukesh and the victim´s family.

Chief of Area Police Office Lamahi Inspector Hari Das Shrestha, however, denied having tortured Mukesh.
