KATHMANDU, Dec 29: On December 28, famous Nepali folk singer, Buddhi Krishna Lamichhane breathed his last at his own residence in Bhaktapur. Born in 1955 AD, Lamichhane was suffering from paralysis and pneumonia and had been bed-ridden for a long time. He was 66 and is survived by a wife, two sons and three daughters.
Buddhi Krishna Lamichhane was the youngest son of Tikaram Lamichhane (father) and Padam Kumari Lamichhane (mother).
Lamichhane came into limelight with the debut song “Ghans Katne Khurkera Aayo Joban Hurkera” after passing the voice test of Radio Nepal back in 2039 BS. A year after that he gave another hit “Pidima Basera Merai Bato Herera” in 2040 BS to the Nepali audiences. He was an energetic performer who mesmerized the audiences with his unique dance moves. He also served in the Nepal Army for 20 years.
