Pooja beat Pratibha Gurung of Kaski 21-5, 21-10. Similarly, Bikash registered an easy 21-9, 21-8 win over Bhugol Gurung of Kaski.
In the other matches of women´s singles, Mina Shrestha of APF thumped Pratibha Khadka from Doti 21-2, 21-0, Sabina Panthi of APF overcame Sangita Dahal from Palpa 21-8, 21-9, Sara Devi Tamang of Nepal Army Club (NAC) beat Heen Khuama Rai from Bhojpur 21-8, 21-10, Samjhana Khaling of APF eased past Shanta Budhathoki from Bhojpur 21-3, 21-12 and Shiksha Shrestha of APF registered a 21-12, 21-8 win over Anita Gurung from Jhapa. Nangsala Devi Tamang of APF and Ganga Bista of Kanchanpur also fixed their quarterfinal spots.
In the men´s singles, Indra Mahato of APF registered an easy 21-8, 21-7 win over Bilal Warsi of Nepal Army, Dipesh Dhami of APF beat Sahadev Khadka 21-11, 21-17, Sajan Krishna Tamrakar of NPC toiled hard to beat club mate Deepak Bohara 22-20, 21-18 and Pankaj Chand thumped Bishnu Katuwal to enter the quarterfinals.
In the men´s doubles category, the pair of Kamal Shrestha and Ram Rai of NPC overcame Sudip Budhathoki and Surya Thapa´s pair 21-15, 21-14, Rakesh Singh and Chandra Khapung´s pair of NPC beat Bharat Shrestha and Pitambar Timilsina´s pair 21-18, 21-17, NPC´s pair of Deepak Bohara and Bishnu Katuwal defeated Ganesh Thapa Magar and Arun Dutta 21-15, 21-19.
Likewise, in the same category, the pairs of Balaram Thapa and Indra Mahato, Rajiv Dahal and Bibek Shrestha, Subash Lama and Dutta Khaling, Sajan Krishna Tamrakar and Bibek Shrestha, Irfan Ansari and Sudeep Sedhain, Ram Lama and Jeevan Thebe, Rewant Basnet and Tek Narayan Jha, Sunil Shrestha and Ballav Maharjan, and Ratnajit Tamang and Bishal Pradhan also registered wins to make it through to the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, in the Fourth APF Open Lawn Tennis Tournament, the pair of Durga Bahadur Kunwar and Mahesh Shrestha entered the final of veterans´ above 35 years category. Kunwar and Shrestha beat Rameshwar Thapa and Harbendra Singh´s pair 6-1, 6-2.
In the men´s singles, defending champion Kumar Adhikari beat Abhishek Bastola 6-1, 6-0 to reach the last eight. Likewise, Hari Hayou, Shree Ram Magar, Chhewang Lama, Kamal Bhandari, Dawa Sherpa and Santosh Khatri registered wins.
In the women´s singles, defending champion Ashlesha Lissanevitch entered the semifinals thrashing Catlin Satyal 6-0, 6-0. Bijisa Shrestha toiled hard to defeat Anusha Malla 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 in the quarterfinal. Ramita Kapali beat Renu Bajracharya 7-6, 6-1 and Kalpana Thapa Magar saw off Manjita Nyanchyo 6-1, 6-0.
In the men´s doubles quarterfinals, Chhewang Lama and Abhishek Bastola´s pair registered a 6-2, 6-7, 6-2 win over Hari Hayou and Shreeyans Karki´s pair, and Kumar Adhikari and Atmaram Karki´s pair beat Manoj Rana and Abhishek Bastola 6-4, 7-6.
