"We have to complete the peace process in consensus among the major political parties," UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal said at a function in Kathmandu organized by the Lalitpur Jyapu Samaj to honor Astaman Maharjan. [break]Maharjan donated Rs. 5 million in cash and one ropani and 13 ana of land for an old-age home.
Dahal also reiterated that his party was ready to make a unilateral move with regard to completing the peace process if the other parties do not agree to expedite the tasks through mutual agreement.
At the function, Nepali Congress Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel accused the Maoists of hindering the peace process. He claimed that the Maoists were not ready to work as per the spirit of the Comprehensive Peace Accord.
Urging vacating of the cantonments and handover of arms, Paudel said, "Our party can help the Maoists conclude the peace process if they work in accordance with the Comprehensive Peace Accord."

Similarly, CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal urged the other parties to be ready for sacrifice, saying that a majority government was not the solution for settling national issues.
