UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar met President Yadav at the latter´s official residence in Shital Niwas and pledged to promulgate the new constitution by extending the CA term for another six months. President Yadav is learnt to have asked the leaders to promulgate the new constitution within the extended term.
“Create environment conducive to CA term extension and then put in your efforts to promulgate the new constitution within the extended term,” the president said.
“He suggested us to win the support of the people by forging consensus on key contentious issues,” Gachchhadar told journalists after the meeting.
During the meeting Yadav had acquired information regarding the latest progress in the constitution drafting and peace process.
“The seven-point agreement and Friday´s two-point agreement will address the contentious issues of the constitution writing and peace process,” Gachchhadar quoted leaders as telling the president during the meet.
