TMDP Central Works Performance Committee (CWPC) meeting on Wednesday decided to launch protests demanding among other things, group entry of the Madhesi people in the national army. “The protests will mainly be street centered,” said party’s spokesperson Sarvendra Nath Shukla, “We will organize rallies, sit-ins and call strikes for three weeks beginning February 5.”
The party is set to announce the protests Thursday after the ongoing the CWPC meeting concludes.
Apart from the protest program, Shukla said, the party has already initiated work for Constituent Assembly’s constitution drafting process. “A panel set up for collecting public opinion for new constitution has started work and met with some pro-federation leaders including rights activist Padma Ratna Tuladhar and some Newar community leaders," according to Shukla.
