CHITWAN, Jan 28: Tika Bahadur Thapa Magar alias TK of Doramba, Ramechhap, who was serving a jail term for robbery, was injured when police fired at him during a jailbreak attempt.
According to police, they were compelled to open fire when he fled from jail on a motorcycle, in Ramnagar, Chitwan. Police had to open fire twice to stop him. "He compelled police to open fire when they were trying to stop his motorbike on the Muglin-Narayanghat road section of Bharatpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 1, Ramnagar," informed DSP Prabhu Prasad Dhakal of District Police Office, Chitwan. He further informed that the pillion-rider shot back at the police. That person is at large.
Magar was immediately taken to Bharatpur Hospital for treatment. According to doctors, he is completely out of danger.
