RUPANDEHI, Jan 19: Lumbini Traffic Police has introduced a time card for tippers operating in two sections of the road in the district in a bid to minimize road accidents. The time card will be implemented for the tippers operating from Dovan of Palpa to Butwal and from Butwal to Bhairahawa.

The Lumbini Traffic Police Office in Butwal informed about this new arrangement during a press conference organized on Monday. The Office said that the time card was launched in view of the tendency of tippers to overspeed along these two sections of the road causing a number of accidents.

As per the new arrangement, the tippers must spend 33 minutes to complete the 11-km road from Dovan, Palpa to Butwal and 46 minutes to complete the 23-km road from Butwal to Sunwal. Similarly, they have to spend 56 minute before completing the 28-km road from Dovan, Palpa to Anchalpur of Bhairahawa.

Chief of Traffic Office, Dambar Bahadur BK, informed about this during the press conference.  The tippers need to update the time card in each police post along the road section. If they violate the rule, they face action, he added.
