TikTok removes 1.87 million videos from Nepal in three months for policy violations

KATHMANDU, Aug 1: TikTok has removed over 1.87 million videos from Nepal in the first quarter of 2025 for violating community guidelines, according to the platform’s latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.



The report, covering the period from January to March 2025, shows that TikTok took down 1,876,563 videos in Nepal using automated technology designed to detect content that goes against its rules.

Globally, the platform removed 211 million videos in the same period, representing around 0.9 percent of all content uploaded. Of these, 184.3 million videos were removed through automated detection, while 7.5 million videos were later reinstated after further review.


According to TikTok, 30.1 percent of the videos taken down globally involved sensitive or adult content that violated the platform’s policies.


TikTok stated that the removals aim to ensure user safety and promote a positive user experience.
