CHITWAN, Feb 17: Two more rhinoceros have been killed in a tiger attack at Sishuwar buffer zone of Chitwan National Park (CNP). The killed ones are an adult rhinoceros and its calf.
Conservation officer at CNP Hari Bhadra Acharya informed that a female rhino of some 22 year and its four-month old female calf were found dead. They might have been attacked by the tiger as they were found pierced and scratched, he added. The horn and hooves are however safe.
In the current fiscal year alone, 27 rhinos have died. Among them, two were suspected to have been killed by poachers and others died due to human weakness and natural causes.
