KAPILVASTU, Jan 7: A three-year-old boy drowned in a pond located in his family’s garden in Mayadevi Rural Municipality-3, Kapilvastu.

The accident occurred at around 1 pm on Monday when the boy, Anuj, the son of local resident Pradeep Patharkat, fell into the irrigation pond while playing. Anuj, who had a disability that prevented him from walking, was found struggling in the water.
Inspector Kamal Chhetri of the Area Police Office, Pakadi, confirmed the accident. Anuj’s mother, Amrita, rushed to the scene and managed to pull him from the pond, but unfortunately, the boy had already passed away.
