Three women buried in soil

DOTI, March 3: Three women died and another 12 were injured in the remote village of Doud Saturday afternoon when they were buried in a mass of soil that fell from above while digging a road.



Kalasi Singh, 32, and Bhaga Singh, 30, of Doud-1, and Kala Singh, 33, of Doud-2 were killed in the incident while Hansa Devi Singh, 35, Kal Devi Singh, 40, Kisna Devi Singh, 30, Deva Singh, 25, Goma Devi Singh, 35, Laxmi Singh, 30, Dhani Damai, 20, Durga Singh, 18, Goma Bista, 32, Bishna Devi Singh, Lali Devi Singh and Ghani Nagarik were injured. Around 20 locals of Doud 1 and 2 were involved in the construction.



The injured have been taken to District Hospital, Doti for treatment. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at Doti Police Bharat Bohara said a police team was sent to the site for rescue immediately after news of the incident.



The place is around 11 kilometers from the district headquarters and can be reached only after a three-hour trek.
