As per a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed amidst a function at the TBC premises on Monday, Three Star will take responsibility of managing the tournament and will get Rs 400,000 as the event manager. The agreement will be valid for three years, according to Lalit Krishna Shrestha, the president of Three Star.[break]
The tournament will feature at least eight teams. However, the date, venue and total number of participating teams are yet to be finalized.
Speaking on the occasion, David Bryce, the principal of TBC, who described Three Star as the ´Manchester United of Nepal´, said sports events were vital for the all-round development of students and collaboration with Three Star was an honor. TBC´s Vice-principal Madan Manandhar said that their association with the club could continue for a long time.
CEO of TBC Rajen Kandel said the college could become the main sponsor of Three Star in future.
Three Star´s President Shrestha said that the club was assuming a new role as event manager. "I am optimistic about long-term association with TBC," Shrestha said.
Three Star leads the Martyrs Memorial A Division League after the completion of first round and has won two major knockout football tournaments recently.
