Three Star is currently in Malaysia to compete in the final rounds of AFC President´s Cup and will open its campaign against Balkan of Turkmenistan on Monday. Before leaving for Malaysia, Three Star coach Pradip Humagain had cited family problems as the reason for the 32-year-old defender´s absence from the team.
Sabitri, 38, was found dead with a shawl tied around her neck on September 6 in front of the church near their house at Dharan-17. Police have filed a murder case against Sunuwar. Investigation into the case in ongoing.
Sunuwar was suspected of murder as Sabitri was found dead a few days after a dispute between the couple. "We have learnt that they used to quarrel frequently," said Deputy Superintendent of Police Tek Bahadur Tamang of Area Police Office, Dharan. "The postmortem report also indicates that Sabitri was murdered and we have also received complaint regarding this."
Sunuwar had married Sabitri in 2064 BS. It was the second marriage of Sabitri, who had abandoned her first husband. Sabitri´s 19-year-old son from her first husband filed the murder complaint against Sunuwar.
According to locals, they had suggested to the couple to get divorce if they could not live together as they quarreled frequently.
