BHARATPUR, Oct 27: The construction of the road from Sahidchowk in Narayanghat to Baikunthchowk, Dharmachowk and reaching Kachapchechowk has been stalled as the contractor company delayed the construction making various excuses.

The deadline for road construction has been extended thrice in four years. During this period, only 75 percent of road construction work has been completed. Ranjan Thakur, project manager of the construction company Raman Shivshakti JV, said that the rest of the road construction work will be completed within mid-November. He said, “The work of the drain and subbase has been completed. Now the road will be black-topped. It will take one or two weeks.”

Engineer Pujan Neupane of the Urban Development Office said that the contract amount for the road from Sahidchok to Baikunthchok, Dharmachok and Kachapchechok is Rs 713.8 million He said that the office has yet to pay Rs 210 million.
