Three drown to death across country

SAPTARI, Aug 13: Three people died after they drowned in water across the country on Wednesday evening.

Two children from Saptari drowned in a water-filled ditch as they were playing in ward No. 11 of Triyuga Municipality of Udayapur yesterday evening.


The deceased children have been identified as five-year-old Niraj Shah, the son of Ram Sewak Shah of Pipara-3 in Saptari and five-year-old Saurat BK, the son of Subhan BK of the same locality, according to Saptari Police.

They were found drowned by the locals. The two minors died on the way to hospital, according to SP Narayan Prasad Chimariya of the District Police Office.

In yet another incident, a man drowned in the Chamuwa River in Hatiya VDC in Baglung district on yesterday evening while he was reportedly fishing in the river.

A resident of ward No. 8 of the same VDC, Padam Nepali was found dead in the river, according to Area Police Office Burtibang.

Nepal had however left home to wash clothes in the river, according to the family sources.
