Three drown to death in Lalitpur, Rautahat

KATHMANDU, Sept, 7: Three people have drowned to death across the country on Sunday.

According to police, two minors died after they drowned in a water-filled ditch in Rautahat on Sunday.The deceased have been identified as Manisha Mahato, 13, and Asha Baitha, 12, of Chandrapur Municipality-4.

They were swimming when the incident took place.

Likewise, Mukesh Nagarkoti, 24, of Lele VDC, Lalitpur has drowned to death here at Lagankhel-based fishery pond on Sunday. Nagarkoti had reportedly gone for swimming after consuming liquor.

Acting on information, a police team deputed from Metropolitan Police Range, Jawalakhel, had rescued Nagarkoti. Police, however, could not save his life.

Doctor at Patan Hospital pronounced him dead immediately after he was brought to the hospital.
