GAUSHALA, June 19: Three persons died this morning in Mahottari due to heavy drinking, District Police Office, Mahottari said.
The deceased have been identified as Ram Brichya Mallik, 70, his son Prakash Mallik, 30, of Sahasaula VDC – 6 and Pancha Mallik of Gaushala Municipality – 7.
They drank at a liquor store belonging to one Binod Mahara at Sahasaula Chowk till 10 pm last night and left for their houses. They may have died between 2 am to 4 am, said Superintendent of Police (SP), Janak Bhattarai.
Meanwhile, Badri Mallik of Aurahi VDC – 3 and the store owner Binod Mahara also fell ill after consuming the same liquor. Mallik is undergoing treatment at the Area Health Post while Mahara was taken outside of the district for treatment by his kin, SP Bhattarai added.
The bodies of the deceased will be taken to District Hospital, Jaleshwor for autopsy as the police continue to investigate into the incident. RSS
