Three COVID-19 cases at Nepal Police Hospital

KATHMANDU, June 6: Three new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed at the Maharajgunj-based Nepal Police Hospital on Saturday, according to Nepal Police.

Earlier in the afternoon, the Ministry of Health and Population confirmed four new cases in Kathmandu district, of which three are in Nepal Police Hospital.


According to Deputy Inspector General Neeraj Bahadur Shahi, of the three patients, two are police officials, while one is the wife of a former police official.


“Of the two police officers, one is a medical staff at the hospital. Likewise, another official had come to Kathmandu for  check-up,” DIG Shahi, told Republica Online, adding that preparations are underway to send the infected to the Balambu-based Armed Police Force Hospital for further treatment.


With this, the number of police personnel infected with COVID-19 has reached 32, of which 14 have already been discharged from different hospitals after recovery.
