Three call bypass operators in police net

CHITWAN, July 27: A joint team of Central Investigation Bureau and District Police Office, Chitwan, on Thursday arrested three persons for their involvement in bypassing international calls. 


The arrested are Bijay Gurung, 31, and Min Prasad Rijal, 32, of Tilottama municipality-11 in Rupandehi district and Sunil Adhikari, 22, of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-22, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Prabhu Prasad Dhakal. 



The team arrested them along with equipments and dozens of mobile SIM cards used to bypass calls. Gurung and Adhikari were arrested from Bharatpur Metropolitan City-10 while Rijal from Butwal.

The joint team arrested them while acting on a tip-off that activities for bypassing calls have been taking place at different places of Chitwan district since long. 


Police said that case has been lodged against them at District Court, Chitwan, under Telecommunications Act-2053 BS on Thursday and further investigation was underway. 


Meanwhile, police nabbed Subas Rai of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-11 along with drugs. Police confiscated 144 ampoules of diazepam, 140 ampoules of phenergan and 142 ampoules of ibrprofen from Rai. RSS
