The three Nepali nationals who were trying to enter Nepal via Madar checkpoint from the Indian town of Jaynagar where they purchased the weapons were arrested near Kali temple in Madar Wednesday night by a joint security team. [break]
Superintendent of Police Rabindra Thakur of the Armed Police Force said 19-year-old Indra Bahadur Shrestha of Biruwaguthi, Parsa, Ram Binesh Yadav of Mirchaiya-7, Siraha, and Atabul Rain of Paterwa, Dhanusha, who were traveling on a motorcycle (Ba 14 Pa 6226) were arrested with two pistols, and ten bullets.
The three have said they were heading for Kathmandu to supply the weapons to a manpower agent. Siraha police are coordinating with Kathmandu police to nab the agent.
Police are expecting to get to other individuals associated with the racket after interrogating the arrested three. Police are also trying to identify the arms supplier based in Jayanagar.
