KATHMANDU, May 1: Nepal faced a huge defeat of 76 runs against West Indies A in their third match of the five-match T20 series on Wednesday.


With this, West Indies A have taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.


Nepal were left chasing a target of 228 runs set by West Indies A in 19.2 overs, managing to score only 151 runs before being all out.


Lokesh Bam top-scored for Nepal with 28 runs, including one boundary and two sixes.


Similarly, Karan KC contributed 28 runs off 17 balls, with three boundaries and one six.

Binod Bhandari scored 19 runs off 15 balls, Anil Shah 14, Aarif Sheikh 3, Kushal Malla 20, Gulshan Jha 6, Vivek Yadav 3, and Dipendra Singh Airee 7 runs before getting out.


West Indies A’s leg-spinner Hayden Walsh took 3 wickets, conceding 28 runs in 4 overs, while Gudakesh Motie claimed 2 wickets, giving away 28 runs in 4 overs.


Obed McCoy, Mathew Forde, and Fabian Allen took 1 wicket each.


Earlier, in the toss-winning first batting innings at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, West Indies A scored 227 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs.


Opener Johnson Charles completed his century in 55 balls, scoring 119 runs with 13 fours and 7 sixes in 61 balls.


Opener Evin Lewis was out for 17 runs. At that time, West Indies were 27/1 in 3.1 overs.


Then, Andre Fletcher and Johnson Charles combined for a partnership of 145 runs, contributing significantly to the massive total.


Andre Fletcher scored 53 runs off 33 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes.


In the bowling attack, Sagar Dhakal got the wicket of Tevin Imlach, caught near the boundary by Dipendra Singh Airee.


Fabian Allen was out for 19 runs off 9 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. Kimani Melius was dismissed for 13 runs.


Spinners Sagar Dhakal and Karan KC took 1 wicket each.


In the first match, Nepal emerged victorious by 4 wickets and lost the second match by 10 runs.


The fourth and the final matches will be played on Thursday and Friday, respectively.
