In other men´s singles matches held at the Satdobato tennis court, Baburam Gadal dispatched Pratyus Nahata 6-4, 6-1, Ishwar GC beat Amul Regmi 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, Shakti Sharma outplayed Gunaraj Nepal 6-0, 6-1, Gagan Maharjan edged past Rajkumar Lama 6-4, 6-4, Kumar Adhikari blanked Babulal 6-0, 6-0, and Sriyans Karki eased past Ivannoe Lissanevitch 6-1, 6-1.
Likewise, Pranaya Karki thrashed Sachindra Pradhananga 6-0, 6-0, Raju Chhetri beat Shailesh Shanghai 6-1, 6-1, Atmaram Karki beat Anil Joshi 6-1, 6-1, Gaurav Shah defeated Pratap Moktan 7-5, 6-3, and Shakti Sharma hammered Rupagya Kumar Manandhar 6-0, 6-0.
Meanwhile, in the same category, Sagun Shrestha, Anil GC, Shyamsundar GC, Sriram Magar, Siddhartha Moktan, Hari Hayu, Anuj Arora, Ramraja Karki, Jeevan Ghimire, Mahesh Shrestha and Raju Rai received walkovers.
In women´s singles, Bimala Basyal defeated Jahnavi Nahata 6-3, 6-4 and Kalpana Thapa beat Bijisa Shrestha 6-1, 6-1 while Anushka Malla received a walkover.
In inter-governmental service men´s singles, Ramesh Kumar Kharel defeated APF´s Bhismakanta Aryal 6-4, 6-2 while Chudaraj Nepal of the hosts enjoyed a walkover.
Likewise, in men´s above 35 years category, Gaurishankar Shrestha beat Rajubikram Shah 6-2, 6-4, Rohit Sunuwar defeated Sukaman Tamang 6-3, 7-5 and Dharmaraj Shahi saw off Sanjiv Shrestha 7-5, 6-3.
The winners and runners-up of men´s and women´s singles will bag a purse of Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 each, respectively, while the top two pairs in men´s and women´s singles will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 each.
Earlier, APF IGP Sanat Kumar Basnet inaugurated the tournament at the APF court at Halchowk. Former APF IGP Basudev Oli was also present on the occasion.
