This experience has taught me that no weak child can be tamed by physical punishment. [break]
For it, one must understand child psychology and treat him as per his individuality. However, it is so sad that most parents and even teachers find physical punishments to be the only way.
They hardly think of identifying their child’s problems. They only want that their child be good and perform well.
Knowing child psychology helps teachers, tutors, and parents to build friendly relations with children.
It creates an environment where a child can learn in the way he wants to or in the way he can understand, not in the way others think is good for him. For example, children who are naughty must also have a teacher who is naughty.
Through his nonsense activities itself, he must be taught; otherwise, he is never going to be stable, and if that is the case, we don’t learn his lesson.
Punishments are necessary to tame any child but the nature of punishment must be able to change the mentality and perception of a child. Punishment just harms the child physically, he can’t change himself.
Instead, it increases the stubbornness in the child, decreasing his desire to learn. He may think reading for hours is more painful than getting some physical punishment. It establishes physical punishment as an alternative to study.
Interest matters more than force. Anybody who is made to do by force can never produce the desired result.
So it is necessary to motivate children so that they learn from their mistakes. It can be done by using new technologies to teach and also teaching them in a playful environment. Similarly, not only mistakes should be pointed out.
They should create an environment so that the children themselves will realize their mistakes and will never repeat it.
Showing the child the losses caused by his/her mistakes, counseling him are some other ways to make him realize his mistakes.
We cannot let the pillars of the future fight themselves with their weakness, thinking that time will change them.
It is not time that will help them to fight; it is upon us to build a good track and environment for them to fight their weaknesses.
We must understand their psychology and always be by their side as helpers to make them win.
