Things to watch out for in this year’s IPL final; MI vs DC

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: An epic clash is on the cards as the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) take on the first-time finalists Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final of the Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.


Both the teams, finishing top on scorecard, are looking forward to clinching the IPL trophy in Dubai.


Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians is the four-time IPL champions while Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals has been able to make it to IPL final for the very first time.


Here are the things to watch out for in this most awaited final:


Battle for purple cap; Bumrah vs Rabada

Jasprit Bumrah playing for MI and Kagiso Rabada for DC are the two leading wicket takers in this season’s IPL.


So far, Rabada is leading the run for purple cap with 29 wickets followed by Bumrah with 27 wickets.


Dangerous Dhawan 


Shikhar Dhawan has been in sensational form throughout this year’s competition.  


With 603 runs in his name, Dhawan is only 68 runs away from K.L Rahul in the race of orange cape.


The 34-year-old has been involved in five of their highest partnerships in the competition – two of which have been third-wicket stands with Shreyas Iyer, both worth 85. 


Key players featuring both teams


Ishan Kishan and Jasprit Bumrah for Mumbai Indians while for Delhi Capitals opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada are expected to play key roles in this season’s IPL final.


MI vs DC Head-to-Head


Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have played 27 times against each other in the Indian Premier League. In those 27 face-offs, Mumbai leads the head-to-head record by 15 wins against 12.


Interestingly, this season Mumbai and Delhi met three times and the defending champions emerged victorious on all the occasions.
