KATHMANDU, July 17: Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has made it clear that he will proceed in harmony with the political parties in the ruling coalition in the province and House of Representatives elections. Deuba made it clear that there is no option to form a coalition in the upcoming elections at the meeting of the central committee held at the party central office on Saturday. The meeting of the Central Committee will continue from Monday.


PM Deuba said, "There will be coordination with other parties in the election, and act accordingly." Saying that the Congress had competed elections alone in the past, Deuba said that the result was in front of everyone.


Deuba opined that not only the Maoists, but also the Congress needs to coordinate with each other for the election, and said that they should proceed with unity and agreement between the parties.

Deuba claimed that he had no interest except establishing the Congress as the largest party in the upcoming elections and developing the country's economy. Saying that he is ready for greater unity and cooperation within the party, Deuba also asked the leaders not to hold internal discussions and gatherings outside the party forum. Asking not to doubt his loyalty to the democratic governance system, Deuba said, "If someone questions my loyalty to democracy, I will not tolerate it. I also have to speak about other people.” 


In the meeting, NC General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa expressed the view that when the president did not act according to the statute, he was also questioned.Thapa had complained that the party president did not consult and discuss with them, considering that he was also elected from the convention. 


Balkrishna Khand, who is also the Home Minister, pointed out that there is a need for an alliance even after the province and House of Representatives elections and said, “Our situation in the National Assembly is weak.” Unless there is an alliance, the bill will not be passed.'' In the meeting, Farmullah Mansoor, Umakant Chaudhary, Mahalakshmi Upadhyay 'Dina', Bhishmaraj Angdembe, Mahendra Yadav, Kishore Singh Rathore, Prakash Sharan Mahat, Dilendra Prasad Badu, Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel, Sita Gurung were present. Gandaki Province Chairman Shukraraj Sharma was also invited. Sharma also had his opinion.


In the central committee meeting, the process of giving opinions by the leaders is over. A meeting of the office-bearers on Sunday at 2 PM will prepare a draft of the decision. It is expected to be approved by the Central Committee which will meet at 3 o'clock on Monday.
