KATHMANDU, March 17: The Office of the President has clarified that there is no official Twitter handle of the President's Office yet. 

Sources close to the Office of President said that there is no official Twitter handle of the President's Office created yet. 

This comes in the wake of a section of media outlets publishing news reports that former President Bidya Devi Bhandari had not returned the official Twitter handle of the President's Office. Former President Bhandari is also being criticized for making the official Twitter handle of the President's office private.

  According to sources, the Twitter handle used by former President Bhandari is her own private account. The Twitter handle that was created when Ram Baran Yadav was the president was used by the presidential office. 

Bhandari recently left Sheetal Niwas after completing two terms as the President and also took her Twitter handle @BidyaDBhandari with her. The new President Ramchandra Paudel has also been running his own Twitter handle @RcPaudelNepal.

Sources said that the IT team of the President's office is now doing homework to create an official Twitter handle used by the president and hand it over to the next new President at the end of each term.  

Sources claim that the websites of the President's office are not up to date. “The websites created so far were not up to date. Now we are preparing to make things more systematic and effective”, the source said, “It was found that the work of making the social network systematic and agile in the presidential office was not done in the past. The IT team of the President's Office is preparing to improve it and move forward.”
