KATHMANDU, July 22: Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Nepali Congress leader Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has claimed that Nepal will soon become a country with a strong economy in South Asia.
Addressing the 9th convention of Nepal Press Union held in Hetauda on Friday, he claimed that Nepal is not on the way of Sri Lanka although there are some problems in Nepal's economy.

Minister Karki said that after the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement was passed through parliament, there has been a positive impact on Nepal's economy. He said that in the next 10 years, Nepal will be transformed into a country with a strong economy.
Similarly, Minister Karki also asserted that the government is committed to protecting press freedom, freedom of expression and the rights of citizens as envisioned by the constitution. He said that the government is committed to establishing Nepal as a leading country in press freedom in South Asia.
