Theft at Pashupatinath temple premises

KATHMANDU, Feb. 16: Money in the donation box at the Pashupatinath temple premises was stolen at midnight Friday.



Thieves stole the money by smashing the donation box near the Budhanilakantha temple at the north-east corner of the Pashupatinath Temple.



Two thieves entered from the door side of the Rudragareshwor temple and broke the donation box and plundered the money, said Narottam Baiddya, treasurer of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT). The act of stealing was tracked from the CCTV.



The CCTV captured the scene of around 15 minutes after 12:28 am. The CCTV shows the masked thieves had vanished beyond Suryaghat.



The PADT, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force, including others´ high investigation bureau has started the investigation over the theft case, Baiddya added.
