While terming the CPN-UML split a ‘revolutionary rebellion’, Khanal said that some of the Standing Committee members from their faction have shifted their allegiance toward Oli for their vested interests. “Comrades, the era of multi-party democracy has come to an end. Nobody can follow up on that. Our program is to transform into socialism,” he said. “We have to speak according to the era we live in and make programs suitable to it.”
Referring to the decision of a section of leaders close to them to stay with Oli despite so much bitterness in the past, former Chairman Khanal also claimed that the middle path will not last for long.
