KATHMANDU, April 3: Shekhar Golchha, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), has said that the depression of the economy will not last long. He expressed this opinion while addressing the opening session of the 57th Annual General Meeting of the Federation on Tuesday.
He stated that the economy, which survived the impact of Covid-19, is currently facing challenges due to its inherent weaknesses. However, he expressed optimism that this difficult phase will be short-lived.

He also suggested that the Ministry of Finance and the central bank should also understand the current problem and work to change the situation. He asked the relevant agencies for facilitation, saying that if the industry and the private sector are in trouble, it would be difficult for the government and the banks.
While suggesting to the government to work for sustainable growth by making sustainable plans rather than populist ones, he also urged Nepal Electricity Authority to provide electricity at concessional rates.
