KATHMANDU, August 16: The ruling coalition has decided to proceed with the Citizenship Bill.



The meeting of the alliance held today decided to submit the Citizenship Bill which was returned for reconsideration by the President Bidya Devi Bhandari to the Parliament.

After the President returned the Citizenship Bill with a message, a meeting of the alliance was held to make a common opinion. The meeting has confirmed that it is constitutional for the bill to be returned to Parliament for reconsideration by the President.


On the 14th day after Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota certified it on July 31, the President sent the bill back to the House of Representatives on Monday.
