Thapa wins journalism award

NAWALPARASI, Dec 2: Journalist Hari Bahadur Thapa has been declared winner of the Suryabhakta-Patanadevi Memorial National Journalism Award for 2010.



The award established by Nepal Press Union, Nawalparasi branch, carries a purse of Rs. 30,101. Thapa will be honored with the award for writing in parliamentary politics, governance and again ending economic malpractice, said Union´s president Narayan Sharma.[break]



Thapa, who is active in the journalism field for the past 18 years, is presently associated with Kantipur daily being news coordinator.



The award is established in the name of the then lawmaker from Nawalparasi-1 late Surya Bhakta Adhikari and his wife Patana Devi.
