To mark its 41st anniversary of services in Nepal, the Thai Airways International Kathmandu Office has said that it would honor top agents for the period of 2007-09 on Friday. On the occasion, the company will confer awards to top passenger and cargo agents for their outstanding performance and support to Thai.
Thai was the first commercial airline to operate with jet services between Kathmandu and Bangkok. It started service with a weekly flight in 1968.
Thai Airways, which is also celebrating its golden jubilee next year, has further disclosed that it was doing groundwork to acquire 5th and 6th freedom right and looking into possibilities to operate beyond Kathmandu to connect popular destinations like Lhasa.
"It may even operate services to Middle-East from Kathmandu," states a press release, adding that the company was seriously considering its demand prospects as many other international airlines have joined the race after Nepal adopted liberal air service policy.
The company hopes its efforts to operate services between Kathmandu and other destinations will help promote Nepali tourism and also support the government in making Nepal Tourism Year 2011 successful.
