AATHRAI (Terhathum), Sept 21: Lack of banks at three local levels in the district has affected the locals in various ways.
Phedap and Menchhyayem rural municipalities lack banks, although the government, six months ago, directed banks to open their branches at all local levels in the district.

As a result, the locals are forced to reach the district headquarters Myanglung for financial transactions through banks, said Chairperson of Phedap rural municipality, Hari Chongbang.
