KATHMANDU, May 29: The government has allocated funds to complete the Kathmandu-Terai-Madhesh Expressway by Fiscal Year (FY) 2027/28.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, while presenting the budget for FY 2025/26 on Thursday, stated that the construction of the Madhesh Expressway section is expected to be completed within FY 2083/84 BS.

The government has also allocated Rs 2.119 billion for the upgrade of the Gaddachowki–Attariya section of the East-West Highway. Additionally, plans are underway to expand 422 kilometres of roads nationwide to four lanes, Minister Paudel added.
