GANDAKI, Sept 26: The Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital remained tense on Monday after a 57-year-old patient died in course of treatment at the hospital.
Sukamaya Dura of Lamjung was brought to the hospital on Monday morning after she complained of breathing complications. The relatives of the woman have alleged of doctors' negligence in the treatment, leading to her 'unexpected' death. They also accused the hospital of not providing the updates of the patient to them on time.
A significant number of security force has been presently mobilised, considering a potential threat to medical professionals involved in the treatment of the woman, according to police. The irate mob has smashed the hospital door as well.
As District Police Office, Kaski Spokesperson, Shrawan Kumar BK said, until the filing of this report, dialogue was underway between the hospital administration and the relatives of the deceased to come to an agreement.
The hospital management has assured that it would soon come up with facts surrounding the incident.
