Telephone services disrupted in east

BHADRAPUR, Feb 28: Telephone contact has been disrupted in Mechi Zone and eastern part of Morang district after optical fiber cable lines of Nepal Telecom were cut.



The landline and mobile phone services were disrupted as the cables were cut on Friday morning at Gothgaun of Morang while linking a land plotting with the East-West Highway.



Some 100,000 telephone lines were affected, Nepal Telecom Regional Office, Biratnagar, said.



The repair works were not completed till mid-day, Sunday.



Necessary process for action has been moved ahead on the land owner who committed negligence and caused damage to public as well as Nepal Telecom while land-plotting, the Telecom said.
