KATHMANDU, May 14: The UCPN (Maoist) boycotted a meeting of army integration special committee that on Friday decided to extend the term of its technical committee by four months.

The technical committee´s previous tenure expired Friday.

The meeting held at the Prime Minister´s Office in Singha Durbar could not hold any discussion on integration and rehabilitation of Maoist combatants due to absence of Maoist representatives, according to Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, an NC representative to the special committee.

The Maoists have been maintaining that it would be meaningless to sit for dialogues in the committee without settling the political deadlock.
